About Us

We believe that anybody should be able to ride horses.

We believe in a new way of offering riding lessons.

We believe that finances are a lousy reason to tell someone that they can't learn to ride.

We believe that being around horses is good for humans, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

We believe in kindness, to our horses, our friends, and ourselves.

We believe in cleaning stalls.

We believe in community. We believe that life is better with friends, and if those friends like horses, well, that's just swell.

We believe that being outside is GOOD. Especially for kids. But for grown-ups, too.

We believe in hard work.

We don't believe in just showing up and riding. We believe in getting your hands dirty, feeling your horse's soft fur, and getting to know your horse before climbing on.

We believe that it is okay for only one person to win a blue ribbon. We also believe that it is okay to be frustrated about this, as long as you take a deep breath and resolve to try again.

We believe in Special Olympics.

We believe in living a life of abundance, not of scarcity. There is always enough.

Finally…

Elizabeth Girard is a certified therapeutic riding instructor through PATH Intl. She has been riding horses since she was 9 years old. She still is not quite sure why her amazing parents gave in to her pleading and bought her a horse, but it did teach her the valuable lesson that being stubborn and persistent can really pay off.

Elizabeth founded GTS in 2013 after seeing a need for quality, affordable riding lessons in the west valley. GTS offers riding lessons for special needs and typical riders of all ages. All of our students learn independent riding skills, with our instructors providing various accommodations as needed. We have a variety of horses to suit our students' different ages and riding abilities.

GTS is a 501c3 Charitable Organization, #46-3459955.
